Miscellaneous Must-Haves in My Pro Makeup Kit
Sure, you’ve seen the foundations, palettes, and lashes I use on my clients - but let’s talk about the unsung heroes of my kit. These are the often overlooked products I carry with me to every wedding, shoot, or glam session. They play a major supporting role in keeping your makeup looking fresh, flawless, and photo-ready.
Here’s what I keep stocked in my kit at all times:
Loose Blurring Setting Powder
This setting powder is ultra-fine, weightless, and works like magic to brighten, smooth, and lock in makeup - without ever looking cakey. I love using this in the under-eye area or anywhere I want to subtly lift and blur.
Invisimatte Powder
The real MVP for touch-ups! This translucent powder mattifies instantly without adding extra texture or coverage. I especially love it for shine control on the nose, forehead, or chin throughout the day.
Brown Mascara
Brown mascara might sound basic, but trust me - it’s not. It gives the lashes definition in the most natural, soft-glam way. Ideal for blondes, redheads, or anyone going for that effortless, romantic eye.
A Lash Guard
A true game-changer! I use this little tool to help apply mascara without smudging or messing up any shadow work. It’s especially helpful for lower lashes or when working with clients who tend to blink…a lot.
Clear Lip Gloss
For that glassy, high-shine lip moment without adding color. I use this on top of lip liner or lipstick - or even on bare lips - for a juicy, hydrated finish. It’s luxe and never sticky.
Body Makeup
This is perfect for evening out skin tone on the chest, arms, or back—especially for brides wearing sleeveless or off-the-shoulder gowns. It’s water-resistant, transfer-proof, and photographs beautifully.
Mini Disposable Wands
Spoolies, gloss wands, lip brushes - you name it. I keep a stash of disposables on hand to keep everything sanitary and precise. Hygiene is non-negotiable.
Exfoliating Pads
These little pre-makeup gems help gently exfoliate and smooth the skin so that makeup lays beautifully. I’ll use these (sparingly!) on dry patches or areas with texture when needed.
Breath Mints
Because we’re up close and personal during makeup applications, and no one wants coffee breath in their face :)
These are just a few of the under-the-radar favorites I keep close by while working my bridal magic. If you’re curious about more of the random (but essential!) things I carry in my kit - let me know!
