My Skincare Routine
My Skincare Routine
Alright, ladies. It's time to talk skincare. I just posted my nighttime skincare routine on my IG stories, but for those of you who don't follow me on IG, let's break it down here.
During this weird time, I have been really upping my skincare game. Like, so many masks, serums, lotions, and potions - ya know, the works. More time on my hands = more time in the AM and PM to make that skin GLOW, hunny, even though absolutely no one will notice other than people on the other side of Zoom meetings.
If you want to learn all about my skincare routine, well, just keep on reading...
1. Cleanser
I switch it up between Philosophy Purity Made Simple, Dr. Dennis Gross Alpa Beta Pore Perfecting Cleansing Gel, and Summer Fridays Super Amino Gel Cleanser.
2. Micellar Water
Alright, after you cleanse, you might still have some shit on your face. Like, makeup, dirt, oil, bacteria, etc. So, micellar water (or a toner) will help get any and all of that extra trash off your face. I usually use this one by Garnier or this one by Bioderma.
3. Dermaplane
Totally optional, but something I do about every two weeks is...shave my face. Yup, you heard me right. Dermaplaning your face at home (or at a professional salon) can remove tons of peach fuzz, and therefore, makes your skin smoother, sleeker, sexier, and makeup goes on SO much better. The difference is actually unreal. My favorite brand of razor is Tinkle, sold on Amazon.
4. Microneedle
Again, super optional here, but I like to be extra. I'm trying to keep my skin right and tight, ya know? The GloPRO by BeautyBio is an all-star in my skincare lineup if I do say so myself. I actually have an entire blog post dedicated to it, if you want to check that out here.
5. Masks
A few times a week, I love to treat myself to a face mask. Sephora sheet masks are amazing and affordable. Summer Fridays' Overtime Mask and R+R Mask are also some of my favorites that I have been using on repeat, or, "overtime," during this quarantine to exfoliate and brighten this ol' face.
6. Serum
So when it comes to serum, I am always trying new things. At the moment, I am using the Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate, but two of my other favorites include the Summer Fridays CC Me Vitamin C Serum and Olehenriksen Truth Serum.
7. Moisturizer
After serum comes moisturizer. If you apply a serum, you absolutely need to follow it with a moisturizer. The one I've been using for a while now is the Olehenriksen Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator. Perfect for oily skin like me, or normal skin!
8. Eye Cream
Let's talk about eye cream. My under eyes are a f***ing mess. Like, dark circles, bags, the works. And I don't even have kids! I get 8 hours of sleep per night (usually) and my under eyes are still effed. So, to help with them, although it is not a 100% fix-it solution (no skincare product is when it comes to the under eyes), I use the Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream.
9. Sunscreen
This is something I only apply during the day (not at night, obviously) - but the Supergoop Everyday Lotion SPF 50 is my go-to.
10. Self-Tanning Mist
If you know me, you know that I need a glow. If I don't have even a little bit of self-tan, I'm just not human. This St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist gives me life. It gives me color. It gives me...okay, it gives me life. And you need it, too.
11. Lip Scrub
If your lips are feeling/looking chapped and nasty, it might be time for a lip scrub. This Pout Prep Lip Exfoliant by Tarte could be exactly what you need. It's what I use whenever my lips are looking and feeling ratchet, and it cures everything.
12. Lip Balm
Last but not least, let's get those lips right and tight for the day or night. After your skincare routine/lip scrub, you want to make sure your precious puckers are nice and nourished. My favorite lip products to use are Farmacy Honey Butter Beeswax Lip Balm and Laneige Lip Glowy Balm.
What's your favorite skincare routine? I would love to hear!
