Wedding Day Makeup vs. Preview Day Makeup For Michelle
When it comes to bridal makeup, one of the most valuable parts of the process is the preview appointment. It gives us the chance to test products, talk through preferences, and make sure the final look feels true to the bride. Michelle’s preview day was beautiful, but her wedding day look reflected a few subtle changes that made all the difference.
Here’s a breakdown of the key differences between her preview and her wedding day makeup:
1. Foundation
During her preview, I mixed Make Up For Ever and Patrick Ta foundations for a bit more coverage. On the wedding day, Michelle requested a lighter, softer base, so I used only the Patrick Ta foundation for a more natural finish.
2. Hair
This one is obvious but worth noting — Michelle’s hair was styled beautifully on the wedding day by @diannavanegashair, which elevated the overall look.
3. Brows
Another difference I noticed was her brow shape. They had a slightly different shape on the wedding day compared to the preview, and I think both versions looked beautiful.
4. Skin Tone
On her wedding day, Michelle had a more bronzed complexion. Whether it was from spending time outdoors this summer or a spray tan, the added warmth complemented her look and photographed beautifully.
5. Lighting
Lighting plays a huge role in how makeup appears on camera. Between the preview and wedding day, changes in time of day, weather, and location affected how the makeup looked in photos — even when the products and techniques were the same.
What Stayed the Same
Aside from these differences, everything else stayed consistent between her preview and wedding day: the eyeshadow, eyeliner, lashes, powders, blush, and lip combo were all the same.
Michelle looked stunning both days, but her wedding day makeup truly reflected her preferences for a softer, more radiant version of the look we designed together.
