Makeup Products That Dethroned My Holy Grails

Every makeup artist has a list of holy grails, those products you reach for again and again and swear you will never replace. Mine have been around for years.

But here is the thing about being a makeup artist who loves to try new products: sometimes a new one comes along and takes the crown.

Today I am sharing six products that have dethroned my past holy grails.

Ciele Tint & Protect Skin Tint

Don't get me wrong, I still love the Hourglass Veil. But little miss Ciele made her way onto my desk and I haven't put her down since.

Ciele provides more coverage and feels like nothing on the skin. And it is SPF 50!

Rare Beauty Tinted Brow Gel

The Kosas tinted brow gel was my go-to for so long, and I still love her. But the new(ish) Rare Beauty tinted brow gel is less pigmented, which I actually love, so it doesn't cling to your skin, just your brows.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Stick

Once I realized the Hourglass eyeshadow stick is no longer sold at Sephora, where I typically shop for makeup, I decided to try the new Charlotte Tilbury stick on a whim. And I am so happy I did!

It is transfer-proof, crease-proof, and the shades are gorgeous.

Dior Forever Glow Star Filter

Another one where I think the Charlotte Tilbury is still good, but Dior is even better. The Star Filter is more blurring on the skin than the Hollywood Flawless Filter.

Tower 28 Concealer

The NARS concealer was an OG for a very long time, and it lived in my pro makeup kit for years. But in my opinion, the Tower 28 one is so much better.

It is radiant, creamy, buildable, and works well on all skin types and ages.

Clarins Lip Perfector

The Summer Fridays lip balm had me in a chokehold for the longest time, and I still reach for it. Then I discovered the Clarins Lip Perfector, and wow.

Between the formula, the sponge applicator, and the shades it comes in, it is the winner.

Final Thoughts

None of these swaps mean the old favorites are bad. They are all still wonderful products, and I would happily recommend every one of them. But these six are the new ones earning a permanent spot on my desk.
