Your Wedding Week Beauty Timeline
Your Wedding Week Beauty Timeline
All former brides know there is much more that goes into the wedding day beauty routine thanshowing up to get your makeup done the morning of. Today I’m breaking down all of the beautytreatments you’ll want to schedule in the week leading up to your wedding and when you should fit them in. The week before your wedding will seem crazy but at least you’ll have your beauty timeline nailed down!
7 Days Before
Now is not the time to try a new cleanser or a chemical peel. Stick to gentle treatments and triedand true products to avoid sudden breakouts or bad reactions. Scheduling your usual facial a week out will help steer clear of irritation and leave you with fresh looking skin. If you want to schedule a bikini or underarm wax before your big day, get that out of the way now to avoid discomfort. Finally, if you’re getting permanent extensions for your wedding day hairstyle, a week out is a good time to get them put in.
Above all else, make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the week to keep your skin looking dewy and fresh. Getting plenty of beauty sleep is also a must to avoid dark under eye circles!
5 Days Before
Although you’ll be tempted with all of the celebrating going on, try to avoid alcohol, caffeine, andsalt. These three are prime culprits for bloating and puffiness in your face, which is the last thingyou want on your wedding day. Instead, enjoy a cup of soothing herbal tea while you do an at-homehair mask (check out my favorite one here) to relax your body and to get your locks ready for some serious styling on the big day.
3 Days Before
Head to the salon today for a day of beauty treatments! Three days out is the perfect time to get your eyebrows done so that any redness has a chance to fade away. If you’re getting a spray tan, this time frame allows your color to set to the perfect bronzy glow before it’s time to put your gown on. Lastly, any brides with eyelash extensions should get those touched up now so your bridal makeup looks its absolute best!
1 Day Before
To avoid your nails chipping, schedule a manicure and pedicure one day before your wedding.Book an appointment for yourself and your bridesmaids for some additional fun! A neutral pink or nude polish color is always a great option for a white dress, but if you’re looking for a pop of color, you could coordinate your nails with the bridesmaids' dresses.
After a fun day with your girls and your rehearsal dinner, take some time to wind down with arelaxing evening. Check with your hair stylist to see if they want you to wash your hair the night before or not since sometimes hairstyles work better on second-day hair. Take a bath, moisturize with some scented lotion and head to bed early. If you’re too anxious to sleep try journaling your thoughts or rereading your vows to clear your mind about your exciting day.
On Your Wedding Day
Your wedding day is finally here! Start off your morning with a healthy breakfast that’s not tooheavy and make sure you continue to drink water throughout the day. Enjoy a mimosa with yourgirls but take it easy for now, you don’t want skin redness or a headache before you even get to the ceremony.
Your hair and makeup team will most likely be in touch with you in the morning as they arrive at your location so make sure your bridal party is assembled and ready so they can get to work right away. If you’re using part of a wedding loan to pay for the bridal party’s services, you should have the cash on hand and divided into envelopes for a quick and easy payment (don’t forget the tip too). Otherwise, try your best to relax and enjoy the celebrity treatment as your stylists work their magic. You’re getting married today so don’t forget to soak up every special moment!
I hope this post helps you feel prepared to tackle your wedding week beauty timeline!
