There is one question I get asked on repeat, and that is: do setting sprays actually work? Or are they just another beauty product gimmick?! I am here to tell you that yes, they do actually work! Well, as long as you get a good one. Today, I am breaking down the 3 best setting sprays (in my humble opinion).
1. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($33) – Kicking this short list off with my personal favorite at the top, the UD All Nighter is the OG of setting sprays. This product has been in my kit for as long as I have been doing makeup professionally (since 2012). It works well for all skin types, is vegan and free of oils and parabens, and features patented Temperature Control Technology. If none of that really matters to you, all you need to know is that the All Nighter helps your skin and your makeup look smoother and vibrant, well, all day and all night.
2. Morphe Continuous Setting Mist ($16) – This gem is a newer product in my kit, as of about a month ago, and I am truly loving it so far. I really, really love the continuous mist feature that Morphe developed with this. Opposed to the other sprays on this list, this is the only one that has that…continuous mist. I don’t know how else to word it! And aside from that, it does help the makeup stay in place, look good, and last longer. Oh, and it’s only $16! Not too shabby.
3. MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ ($28) – Fix + by MAC is similar to the Urban Decay All Nighter in the sense that it is another OG product. It has been around forever, and people still love it for good reason. I don’t necessarily think it is the very best at making your makeup last the longest, however, it is good at refreshing the skin. For example, I like to spray Fix+ all over the face after I apply a bunch of powder products. This brings “life” back to the skin so that it doesn’t look powdery or cakey. I also like to spray Fix+ on my Beauty Blender and brushes when applying foundation, highlighter, and eyeshadow that I want to POP (such as glitters, pigments, etc).
Have you tried any of these setting sprays before? What’s your favorite setting spray?
