Spring 2019 Makeup Trends
When it comes to makeup trends for this spring, think fresh, glowing, and romantic! Aside from that, pastel and rose gold shades are also very in, especially on the eyes. The 2019 Pantone Color of the Year is “Living Coral,” and I’ve been seeing lots of coral makeup this season (cheeks and lips).
I thought I would share my top four spring makeup trends with you today, all of which are super easy to wear on your own. Let’s jump right into it!
Spring Makeup Trend 1: Full Brows
Full brows have been in style for at least a few years now (thankfully!) and they aren’t going anywhere for spring. Remember: full does not equal messy. Just not skinny, overplucked, or drawn on. I love to brush brow hairs up with a tinted product that has a wand. Think of mascara, but for your brows. A product such as Boy Brow will thicken, fill in, and groom your brows into place.
Favorite product to use: Glossier Boy Brow // $16
Spring Makeup Trend 2: Sheer, Sparkly Eyes
When it comes to the eyes, think light, fresh, sheer, and effortless. I love to use a cream-based eyeshadow that you can easily apply with your fingers. No brushes needed! Choose one that also includes a bit of glitter to create some sparkle. Pastel shades are very in for spring, but if you don’t think rocking lilac on your eyelids is for you, opt for a beautiful rose gold shade. Rose gold looks wonderful on every skin tone and also compliments just about every shade of blush and lipstick as well.
Favorite product to use: Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eye Shadow in shade Aura // $29
Spring Makeup Trend 3: Glowy, Bronzed Skin
You’ve likely been hibernating all winter long (unless you live in California or Florida) and are ready for some glow and bronze, right?! I know that I sure am. When it comes to spring makeup, you want your skin to be glowing! Don’t cover it up with too much makeup. Skip the foundation if you can. I love to use a moisturizer that also has an iridescent glow, such as MAC Strobe Cream, with my fingertips. Then just apply a touch of concealer in the places you really need it (dark circles under the eyes, blemishes), skip the setting powder, add bronzer to the places the sun would naturally hit (temples, the tip of your nose, cheeks, chin), and finally, use a creamy blush/highlight for a super fresh and healthy look.
Favorite products to use: MAC Strobe Cream in shade Goldlite // $34
Spring Makeup Trend 4: Glossy Coral Lips
Last but not least, the final spring trend that I’m sharing today is a glossy lip. Bonus points if you use a coral shade! Leave the matte lips behind with the melted snow, and say hello to radiant, glossy, dewy lip finishes.
Favorite product to use: Yves Saint Laurent Heart & Arrow Collector Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in shade 15 Corail Spontini // $38
