Beauty Review: LED Teeth Whitening
Being in the beauty industry, I get asked a lot of questions. “What type of foundation do you recommend for my skin type,” “how do I apply false lashes on myself,” the list goes on and on. One question that I’m asked time and time again, almost more than anything, is how I get my teeth to be so white.
Up until a week ago, I would have told you that great oral hygiene, and a few past run-ins with Crest White Strips are what I owe my pearly whites to. I’ve always been happy with the shade of my teeth, but felt like they could get even whiter. The last time I used White Strips, which was at least five years ago, I know they made my teeth feel sensitive. Aside from that negative outcome, I also hated the actual application of putting the strips on each morning or night for an extended period of time (I can’t remember for sure but I want to say 2-3 weeks).
I recently did Invisalign (blog post on that here if you haven’t read about my experience yet), and I felt like my teeth were just a tad bit dull. Maybe this was from the retainers or maybe this was just in my head – I’ll admit I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to things like teeth! So I decided to try something I hadn’t tried before: laser teeth whitening.
Professional LED teeth whitening is a great option to whiten your teeth because your teeth shouldn’t feel sensitive from the treatment (like mine did in the past with strips), it will turn your teeth at least two shades whiter, and it only takes 45 minutes.
I had my treatment done at Bare Element in Rochester, NY, which is also where I go for laser hair removal and jet peel facials, and Paige did an excellent job! I am extremely happy with the results; my teeth are the whitest they have ever been.
Bare Element’s professional LED teeth whitening treatment is proven to be more effective than an at-home teeth whitening treatment, but not as strong as a dental office whitening treatment. The average dentist will provide teeth whitening gel that is 6% stronger, but with a very high price tag. I chose Bare Element over a dentist because of the affordable price (only $99!) and a relaxed atmosphere (I really don’t like going to the dentist).
Depending on your teeth, results will last 6 months up to 2 years. This treatment is perfect if you have a big event coming up, such as a wedding, which is why I wanted to share my experience on here. So many of my brides ask how I get my teeth white…and now you know my latest answer!
What do you do to keep your teeth white? I would love to hear!
