The Benefits of Jet Peel Facials
As you get older, the appearance of your skin likely becomes more important to you. At least it does for me. When I was younger, I was lucky if I applied moisturizer. Now, my routine is much more in depth. I actually look forward to my morning and especially nighttime skincare routine. In addition to taking care of my skin at home through a consistent routine, I also like to call in reinforcements, aka professional treatment, from time to time. I’m talking about facials. And today, I’m not talking about any old facial. I’m talking about the latest and greatest one, known as the jet peel.
The jet peel facial is something that is very new. I hadn’t heard of it until my esthetician, Paige at Bare Element, mentioned it. It is a non-invasive, multi-step dermal infusion treatment that delivers visible results immediately, without downtime or skin irritation. This facial is great for all skin types and can dramatically approve fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tones, dry skin, dark circles and spots, enlarged pores, acne and blackheads, and signs of aging. I personally deal with just about all of that, so I was really eager and excited to give the JetPeel a try.
How It Works
- Jet Lymphatic Drainage – A supersonic jet stream of saline and oxygen gently removes natural debris and exfoliates dead skin cells. It oxygenates the tissue and stimulates micro-circulation. Various massaging motions will be made on your skin with the jet stream moving toxins and debris towards the several lymph nodes within the face and neck.
- Jet Exfoliation – Glycolic acid with vitamins and aloe vera are infused deep into the skin for a gentle but effective peel, without the typical post-peel scaling. Layers of dead skin are superficially removed from the surface of the skin. The exfoliation does not cause any irritation to the skin.
- Jet Infusion – The infusion reaches the dermal layer of your skin at a depth of up to 4.5 mm (3/16″), where the skin is cleansed, exfoliated, and infused with serums to stimulate collagen and elastin. Depending on your skin concern, specific bio-active serums will be infused with the jet stream deep into the dermal layer of the skin, such as Hyalauranic acid, Vitamin C, Vitamins A and E, and/or Vitamin B5.
More to Know
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect going into my first JetPeel experience. I knew it was different from a “regular” facial, but I wasn’t sure how. I learned that it’s not necessarily a calming, meditation-like experience that you would receive at a typical spa. Instead, it feels sort of cold, due to the jet stream blasting all of the bad stuff out from your face! Paige gave me a nice fuzzy blanket to keep me warm, and I loved that. The JetPeel delivers similar results as microneedling, except, without the needling. The JetPeel device opens up your skin without even having to touch it.
After the JetPeel treatment was complete, which takes approximately one hour, I saw the results immediately! I noticed that my skin looked refreshed, brighter, hydrated, and smoother. The darkness under my eyes was significantly reduced/brightened and my entire face looked more sculpted. My face has a bit of chub to it (blame it on the carbs and sweet tooth), so I was really excited to see some definition to my facial structure. The photo that I posted above (originally posted to my Instagram stories – sorry for the duck face), was taken the morning after my jet peel facial. My skin looked (and still does look) so good!
I plan on getting another JetPeel facial done again, probably in about a month from now. Depending on your skin concerns, you should get one treatment done about every month and do at least three treatments to see the best results that will last a long time (I believe Paige told me they last about 10 months). If you have an event to go to, such as a wedding, this facial would be perfect for that. Especially since there is no downtime.
Sometimes when I receive a normal facial, my skin is bright and a little bit messed up the day after because of all the proding, popping, exfoliating, and peeling. The JetPeel doesn’t do any of that. I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone, no matter what skin type or age! If you live in the Rochester area, you should check out Bare Element and see what the JetPeel is like for yourself – you won’t regret it.
